How can I help you?
In the industrial era, there were two important components - The Owner & the Union. The workers being part of the union had a set of ordinary skills required by the owner. The exchange was time & effort. The owner, if required to direct his worker "What to do" & "How to do it" has the complete right to replace him at a cheaper price. That's why the ordinary skills come in.
As we entered the internet age, the unions have been diluted to teams. Groups of 1000s have broken down to 50s. The required skill sets are more focused to specific roles than being the ordinary. This continued till we reached teams of 10 & finally coming to 1.
The 1 person team is someone who creates a new product or delivers a complete solution. A full stack developer has all the skills to setup an App & is very much capable to build a company. Another example is the Solo Youtube Star who writes a script, shoots with a Front-cam & edits by himself. The 1 person team delivers & markets by himself. He may not be perfect in all his skills but he gets the job done.
Automation & AI are directly responsible for the elimination of the ordinary job. There are progressing at an alarming rate to finish an entire sector. The 1 person team would only progress to be more skilled & efficient while the rest would fade away.
It all boils down to what want are you able to fulfill.
